MMA Categories 

We have divided this category into 3 divisions kids, adults and experienced. We reserve the right to merge weight divisions in the 3 listed if there aren't enough competitors in a single division.

Take a look at the weight classes for each of these divisions before signing up.

Kids Category

This division is for Boys and Girls who are below 16, in this division, they will be divided on weight experience along with if strikes to the face is allowed

Adult Beginners

This category is divided among Males and Females who have below 2 years of combat experience.

Adults Experiened 

This division is divided among males and females who have above 2 years of combat experience

MMA Rules

Our MMA rules are focused on safety and fairness. We require all fighters to wear approved protective equipment, such as mouthguards, gloves, and headgear. We also have specific rules around strikes and grappling techniques.  

How Many Rounds ?

Our tournaments rounds will be 2  - 2 min rounds where a third round will be implemented if the 2 previous rounds ends in a draw by the refee and the judges.

Combat Rules

Standard MMA combat rules are implemented any strikes to the back of the head or body along with the groin will lead to disqualification. 

Scoring

Scoring in MMA is done using the 10-point must system, where the winner of each round is awarded 10 points, and the loser receives 9 or fewer. Judges consider the following criteria:

  • Effective Striking and Grappling: The impact of legal strikes and grappling maneuvers.

  • Effective Aggressiveness: Consistent efforts to finish the fight.

  • Control of the Fighting Area: Ability to dictate the pace, place, and position of the fight.

  • Defense: Ability to avoid strikes and takedowns effectively.

Techniques and Rules

Legal Techniques

  • Punches and Kicks: All types of punches and kicks to the head, body, and legs.

  • Knees and Elbows: Knee and elbow strikes to the head, body, and legs.

  • Grappling: Takedowns, throws, and wrestling techniques.

  • Submissions: Joint locks (e.g., armbar, kimura) and chokeholds (e.g., rear-naked choke, guillotine).

Illegal Techniques

  • Headbutts

  • Eye Gouging

  • Biting

  • Hair Pulling

  • Fish Hooking

  • Groin Strikes

  • Small Joint Manipulation (fingers/toes)

  • Strikes to the Back of the Head or Spine

  • 12-6 Elbow Strikes (downward elbows)

  • Kicking or Kneeing a Grounded Opponent’s Head

  • Stomping on a Grounded Opponent

Required Equipment

Please note that to participate in the tournament you need to ensure that you have all the equipment listed, if you do not have the equipment listed you will not be able to fight.
